In order to prevent boredom, we need to provide our much-loved pets with toys in a variety of shapes, sizes and textures. For little ones that love to nibble, gnaw and play, safe wood chew sticks are the perfect play treat, because they bring out natural behaviours in our little ones! And while they gnaw away, they are grinding down their teeth too.
All our wooden chew toys are made from 100% organic wood - wood which is either grown in our own 100% organic plot or foraged from untouched unmanaged woodland. We wash all our wood in hot organic apple cider vinegar to completely clean them prior to drying and preparing them, so that you can be sure they are entirely safe, natural and artificial chemical free.
These are dried sticks. We low-heat them to remove exterior moisture and residue of vinegar, but we only do this for a short time, and then they are naturally air dried for at least a month. This drying method ensures they do not become overly brittle or lose valuable nutrients.
There are 15 sticks in the pack, each measuring 4 to 4.5 inches(sizes are approximate). There is a variety of thicknesses of sticks/twigs in the pack too, because our wee ones love variety!
Indeed one of our bunnies much prefers to gnaw away at and play with the thicker sticks, whilst our other bunny always jumps on and consumes the thinner twigs like they are going out of fashion!
There is also a 50cm length of jute twine in the pack, so that if you want to tie your sticks into a bundle, you can. Tying them into a bundle gives our wee ones more excitement and more work, and every time we have done this, our bunnies have always diligently worked to get to their sticks ;)
