For doggie parents who want stylish and colourful eco-friendly and ethical dog collars, our macrame jute collars are perfect as they are soft, strong and handmade by us in the UK. 
 
Jute twine is soft in texture because it has a little bit of fluffiness and fuzziness, making it comfortable on your dog's neck. Plus, the more they are worn, the softer they become! 
 
All feature a strong D-hook for attaching leads to the collar and are adjustable in size. 
Size small - for small to medium dogs - has an internal diameter ranging from 22cm at the smallest to 37cm at the largest. 
Size large - for medium to large dogs - has an internal diameter ranging from 32cm at the smallest to 58cm at the largest. 
 
When measuring your dog's neck size, always add on a couple of centimetres so that when fitted correctly, the collar has a little room for movement and will be safe on your dog.   
 
All our jute collars are individually handmade by us with great care and attention to detail. We construct them by using a macrame plaiting technique. All of the stitching which secures the quick-release buckle, the d-hook and the end which secures the tri-glide is the same strong 3-ply jute twine. This means we can be certain that all of the materials used are safe and comfortable for your dog, as well as being super strong when a lead is attached! All the metal hardware is extra strong nickel-plated die-cast zinc. As these collars are made to order in your choice of colours, please allow a couple of working days for us to make it for you :) 
 
Our jute collars are very secure because jute is a very strong and slip-resistant material. They are fully adjustable for you to always have a perfect fit for your dog, even as your dog grows. Unlike collars made with smooth materials, jute will not slip easily through the tri-glide, meaning that it is very secure and will not slip or slide inadvertently when pulling on a lead attached to the D-ring of the collar. 
 
This also means that it is a little more fiddly to adjust than collars made with smooth materials because it is not slippery. So, to adjust the collar, first gently push the upper band until a small gap appears in the centre of the tri-glide. Using your fingertip or a thin blunt-ended tool (such as the thin handle end of a teaspoon) open the gap over the tri-glide by the length you need to adjust, then pull the upper band in the direction you require to adjust the collar. All collars come with full fitting instructions. 
 
Whilst jute fibre is fully biodegradable, it is also very strong, breathable, hypo-allergenic, anti-microbial and UV-resistant. 
 
Washing Instructions:
Machine washable on a short wash on a low temperature - to avoid fibre loss and to protect other items from the steel buckle, it is best placed inside a linen/cotton bag (such as a pillowcase). Wash separately from other garments of a different colour to avoid any potential colour transfer. 
 
Note on health & safety
Every single pet is unique, each with their own personality and character traits. So if your pet has a tendency to chew vigorously on their leads, please ensure that you regularly check them for any signs of damage. If any do show signs of damage they will no longer be secure and so must be disposed of to avoid any risks to the health and safety of your dog.
